Steve
is the President of Essex and has direct portfolio management
responsibilities for private clients. As one
of Essex’s three Managing Principals, he is responsible for
the overall management of Essex. Prior to joining Essex in 1989,
Steve was President and Director of Baring America (formerly
Endowment Management & Research Corp.) for eighteen years.
Prior to Baring, Steve was Director of Investments and
Portfolio Manager for the Massachusetts Company and was a
Portfolio Manager and Analyst for five years at Keystone.
Steve is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society
and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He serves as a Trustee of
Babson College and is a member of the Investment Committee
of the South Shore YMCA. Steve earned his A.B. degree from Brown
University and received his M.B.A. from Babson College. |

As Chief Executive Officer, Chris is responsible for the overall management of the firm.
Chris is also a member of the Firm’s Management Board. Chris joined Essex in 1993 as
its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Before joining Essex in 1993,
he was a Senior Tax Manager with Deloitte & Touche, LLP for ten years specializing in
financial planning and investment management firms. He is a Certified Public Accountant
registered in both Massachusetts and Texas. Chris is a former member of the Advisory
Board of Northeastern University Graduate Tax Program and was an adjunct professor of the
Graduate Tax Program. Chris is a founding board member of the Boston Hedge Fund Group.
He is also a member of AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He received his B.S. degree from Northeastern University and his M.S.T. from the University
of Houston. |

Joe is Chairman
and Chief Investment Officer of Essex. He has direct portfolio management
responsibilities on a variety of funds and on behalf of private clients. He is
a member of the firm’s Management Board. Prior to founding Essex in 1976, Joe
was Executive Vice President and Director of Endowment Management & Research Corp.
for nine years. Before 1967, Joe was Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager
at the Massachusetts Company. Currently he is serving as Trustee of National
Public Radio,
Trustee of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and is a Trustee and member of the
Children’s Hospital Investment Committee. He received his A.B. degree from Yale
University and his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of Finance. |

the Twentieth Century division of American Century Investors.
She began her investment career in 1984 at Frontier Capital
Management as a fundamental analyst and portfolio manager.
Nancy graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of
Science degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of
Arts degree in mathematics. She earned her M.B.A. from
Harvard Business School. Nancy serves as a Trustee for Bucknell
University. |

Bill is a Portfolio Manager on the Global Environmental Opportunities Strategy (GEOS). Bill directs environmental investment policy and research for Essex, and is on the Investment and Proxy Voting Committees. Prior to joining Essex in 2009, he spent eleven years at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), most recently as Lead Portfolio Manager for GEOS and Head of the Environmental, Social and Governance(ESG) investment team. Bill developed GEOS over a four year period at SSgA, and was a member of the Global Fundamental Strategies group. Prior to SSgA, Bill worked in product management for Wellington Management Company, LLC. Before Wellington, he worked for Fidelity Investments in asset allocation. Bill has lectured extensively on environmental investing at global investment conferences and academic institutions. During business school, Bill worked on socially responsible investment research at KLD Research & Analytics. Bill is a founding board member of the Energy + Environment Foundation, focusing on strengthening energy and environmental education and promoting renewable energy. He earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from Boston University and an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. |
